DERBYSHIRE: Man charged after national hunt
From the courts
Derbyshire Police have charged a man who had been on the run for nearly two years.
David Kean, 41, was wanted for questioning in connection with theft and dishonesty offences committed against vulnerable women nationwide.
His last known address was Copeland Road, Glasgow.
He was arrested on Friday 25 January evening in the Dines Green area of Worcester by officers from Redditch CID.
Kean was brought to Derbyshire for questioning about offences committed against women in the Derby area between September 2011 and October 2012.
He was charged with 13 theft offences, committed across the country, and was bailed in connection with two further theft offences and an allegation of rape.
A warrant for his arrest was issued after he failed to appear on a theft charge before magistrates at Worthing in Sussex in May 2011. Kean had also been wanted for recall to prison since July, 2011, after failing to comply with the terms of his licence.
He appeared at South Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court yesterday and is due to appear at Derby Crown Court on February 11.
