Designs for Bakewell park's future

Children from a Peak District town helped council bosses choose the equipment which will be included in a new play park.

Derbyshire Dales District Council held a consultation event on Tuesday and Wednesday to display the plans for the new facilities at Bakewell Recreation Ground.

Youngsters from the Bakewell area, including six-month-old Savannah Wright, had their say on the design drawings.

The district council has earmarked 200,000 to be split between the new Bakewell park and another one in Ashbourne.

The Big Lottery Fund has also granted 200,000 towards the projects.
