FIRE crews rescued a driver following a car crash in the icy weather.

Firefighters from Chapel-en-le-Frith and Bradwell were called to the A623 in Tideswell at about 3.10am on Friday.

Crews removed the roof of a saloon car and rescued the trapped driver.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police were in attendance.
