EAST MIDLANDS: Travel and weather update

COMMUTERS and residents faced a disruptive start today, Wednesday, March 20, after snow and icy conditions affected some parts of the region.

The Highways Agency and the Met Office issued the following warnings:

Met Office forecasters gave a Yellow Warning of Snow for the East Midlands and Derbyshire valid from 2am, Wednesday, 20 Mar, to 10am, Wednesday, 20 March.

Traffic disruptions today also include the below:

M1 Derbyshire, southbound between A616 [M1 junction 30] and A617 [M1 junction 29]

M1 Derbyshire - Slow traffic on M1 southbound between J30, A616 (Sheffield) and J29, A617 (Chesterfield).
