Festive eco-call

FATHER Christmas dusted down his traditional green robes to support an eco-campaign in Matlock.

Save the North Pole hosted by environmental group Little Green Space, raised climate change issues at an event on Saturday.

Decked out in green costume, Santa rode into town in a horse and carriage, supplied by Red House Stables, and handed out tips for a carbon-conscious Christmas.

Little Green Space's Richard Bunting said: "It went really well and put a smile on a lot of peoples faces.

"It did intrigue people as having a green Father Christmas was a little bit different."

Money raised will help support climate change and forest restoration projects.
