History in the making for Hartington school pupils

STUDIES on the history and character of their local village has landed Hartington Primary School pupils an award from the Peak District National Park Authority.

The youngsters were presented with certificates by Sarah Wilks, from the authority’s Learning Discovery Team.

The school, together with the local community, has also obtained a substantial grant from the Sustainable Development Fund, administered by the Peak Park Authority, for the improvement of the Hartington village trail.

The trail includes two new information panels and leaflets, and artwork for the panels has been produced by pupils with the help of local artist Lucy Annat.
