Learn life-saving skills in Bakewell

Life-saving techniques will be taught to parents at an emergency first aid course in Bakewell.

The free two-hour course run by the British Red Cross at the town hall begins on Tuesday September 16 at 7.30pm and aims to show parents how to save a child's life and how to handle child casualties.

Lynne Grayston, service manager for Community Based First Aid said: "This course is just a taster for anyone keen to understand what is needed if a youngster suddenly needs treatment immediately.

"The Red Cross delivers first aid training to thousands of people across the UK. We want even more people to have first aid skills and our aim is to give the public the power to make a difference. Parents are a very important group."

To book a place on the course call on 01629 593339, 01629 593334 or email your details to TeachMeFirstAid@redcross.org.uk.

The Community First Aid Team is also looking for first aid trainer volunteers and first aid educators.

Call the same number or email Lgrayston@redcross.org.uk for details.
