Learning to ID trees

Nature–lovers can turn over a new leaf by taking a course in identifying trees.

The winter tree identification workshop is being hosted by the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust at the Whistlestop Centre in Matlock Bath.

Expert tutor Debbie Alston will be showing people how to identify native British trees by their shape, structure, bark, twigs and buds.

The workshop takes place on Saturday, March 2, and costs £20 per person, including an indoor classroom session followed by a chance to put new skills to the test outdoors. It runs from 10.30am until 3.30pm and booking is essential.
