Businesses, community groups and residents are being invited to an open evening to find out how high-speed broadband could benefit them.
The event is being held by a partnership of Peak District businesses, local authorities and community organisations to stimulate demand for faster broadband in the area.
The open evening will highlight the importance of high-speed broadband.
Councillor Lewis Rose, leader of Derbyshire Dales District Council, said: “Faster broadband is a must for rural areas.
“As more services move online, people need it to access job vacancies and training opportunities, entertainment and information about local services and to do banking and take bookings and orders.
“While these services are taken for granted in urban areas, rural areas are in danger of being left behind,” added Cllr Rose.
The event is being held at the Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell, between 6pm and 8pm on March 20.
People can register online at bit.ly/Bakewell.
Alternatively, phone 01629 816200 or just turn up on the night.
