A Matlock man sustained head and hand injuries when two intruders robbed him at his home on Steep Turnpike.

The offence happened around 11pm on February 13 when a 41-year-old man answered a knock at his door.

As he opened the door two men barged into his property, assaulted him and demanded money, phone and laptop.

The suspects are described as being white and about 5’ 10” tall. One was of slim build, had fair hair and a Scottish accent. He was wearing a dark scarf covering his face, a camouflage jacket, black trousers and black boots.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the junction of Steep Turnpike and Chesterfield Road near the fire station, at around the time of the offence or anyone who has information should ring the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
