Grants totalling more than £650,000 have been handed out by Derbyshire County Council to help disabled children enjoy leisure and outdoor activities.

Ten projects across Derbyshire have now been awarded cash to improve leisure, sports and play areas to give disabled young people and their families the chance to enjoy days out.

Cllr Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for young people, said: “We all love to get out and thanks to this money more young people will be able to do just that.

“These 10 projects totalling more than £655,000 will help children with disabilities and their families enjoy more leisure.”
