Show defies the downpour

A spectacular show defied the downpours to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Scores of families flocked to Hope Show for a fun-filled time on rainy Bank Holiday Monday.

But despite the deluge the jam-packed end-of-summer show kept the blues away with a whole host of agricultural delights.

A show spokesman said: “Apart from the pouring rain it was a pretty good event.

“Thank you to everyone who attended and braved the wonderful English ‘summer’ weather!”

The long-running event boasted a number of attractions including craft and cookery displays, classic car exhibitions and the usual horse, cattle, sheep and dog shows.

And crowds were wowed by a spectacular stunt display from Legends Medieval.

The troupe of daredevil performers delivered a number of breathtaking acts on horseback and with arsenal of weapons
