Tiny trains to take over

Wirksworth will be overrun by miniature trains this weekend as a model railway exhibition comes to town.

The tenth Wirksworth Model Railway Exhibition will take place throughout the town on Saturday and Sunday.

The town hall, Parish Rooms and Memorial Hall will be venues for the small locomotives.

Other attractions will include specialist trade stands, secondhand books and DVDs.

Ecclesbourne Valley Railway will lend a hand to railway enthusiasts by running an extra evening service, allowing them to stay later.

The exhibition will be open between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, and 10am and 4.30pm on Sunday. Entrance is £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for concessions and £11 for families.

Further information on rail services is available by visiting www.evra.org.uk
