Reg Dean celebrates his 109th birthday in Wirksworth.

Reg Dean has passed away at his home in Wirksworth at the grand age of 110 years old.

The former United Reform Church minister for churches Wirksworth and Matlock held the title of Britain’s oldest man, but died on Saturday.

Reg was born in Staffordshire in 1902 and lead an exciting life having worked all over the world including Burma and Bombay.

He was particularly proud of the part he played in making Wirksworth a Faritrade town and was a member of the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir.
