Woman killed in collision

A 79-YEAR-OLD female walker was knocked down by a 1000cc motorbike in Cromford and later died in hospital.

Elizabeth Campbell, from Wolverhampton, and her husband were crossing the A6 at the junction with Intake Lane when the Yamaha bike collided with Mrs Campbell.

The fatal incident took place at 2.20pm on Saturday.

Mrs Campbell was taken by ambulance to Chesterfield Royal Hospital where she died at 9.50pm.

The rider of the motorbike was a 31-year-old man from Guilt Brook in Nottinghamshire.
