Two Bakewell firms are expanding thanks to receiving more than £100,000 of funding from the Sheffield City Region and free business advice from Derbyshire Dales District Council.

Peak Ales, a microbrewery based in the Barn Brewery, in Chatsworth, and Holdsworth Chocolates, of Station Road, have been awarded the grant from the Local Enterprise Partnership’s unlocking business investment regional growth fund programme.

Peak Ales, who supply cask and bottled ales to pubs, hotels and retail outlets, plan to invest in an additional premises in Ashford in the Water, as demand is now exceeding production capacity at the company’s existing site.
