A former primary school teacher, who decided to make a clean start and go into business for herself, has launched her own range of skincare products.

Gill Eustace runs a cosmetics business, hand-making soaps, creams and moisturisers in the kitchen of her Hayfield home.

She recently launched her own ‘Simply Botanical Skincare’ range, and sells her products at The Gallery in New Mills and the monthly pop-up shop in Hayfield Village Hall.

“I feel lucky to have managed to achieve a much happier work life balance,” said Gill.

“Friends often joke that I should go on Dragon’s Den, but I have no ambition to ‘make it big’.

And Gill hasn’t broken off all ties with her former profession, working part-time as a teaching assistant at Taxal and Fernilee School.
