It will be a mainly dry start today (Friday, August 8) with some early sunny spells but becoming mostly cloudy with showers developing this morning.
The showers will turn heavy and thundery, giving a risk of downpours in many areas this afternoon.
The showers will last into this evening but dying away leaving most of the night dry. Mist and fog patches will develop in some rural areas as clear spells develop.
Saturday looks set to be a dry, bright day with sunny spells after early mist or fog patches.
Isolated showers are possible later.
