A relieved mechanic who was accused of driving without a licence and insurance just for moving a friend’s vehicle one foot has successfully had the offences withdrawn.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday, March 31, how Stefan Drew, 24, of Grange Park Avenue, Brimington, Chesterfield, had been working on his friend’s car when he drove it one foot after it had fallen from a jack and blocked in a neighbour.

Mr Drew said: “I jacked the car up and it dropped off the jack and I pulled it forward.
