Green–fingered folk have been rewarded for their hard work making Darley Dale beautiful.
Darley Dale in Bloom has been given four awards as part of this year’s East Midlands in Bloom.
Mayor Ian Walker welcomed the East Midlands in Bloom chairman Jeff Bates to the Whitworth Centre, in Darley Dale, for a presentation evening.
Councillor Ingrid Pasteur accepted The Taylor’s Bulbs award, Philippa Thompson and Darren Duckworth accepted, on behalf of Audley St Elphins, the Barcham Trees award and David Lathrope, of Peak Rail, accepted the Judges Award for the gardens and new picnic area at Darley Dale Station.
All these awards supported Darley Dale winning a Silver Gilt Award in the small town category for the entry overall.
