A youth facility based in a vintage railway carriage in Ironville has received a £50,000 funding boost for a full refurbishment from Scape.

Scape, a local authority controlled organisation specialising in procurement and construction, has awarded the money to the Ironville Youth Carriage as part of its Reinvest programme.

The money for the Youth Carriage, which is located on the park in Ironville next to the multi-use games area, will be used to refurbish the interior, build a new kitchen and toilets at the back of the carriage and develop community and youth engagement with the project.
