A man has been jailed for six years after injuring a shop worker during an attempted armed robbery at a newsagent in Brimington.

Brandishing an imitation gun, Vincent Morris, 30, raided the shop on Station Road and demanded money at about 7pm on January 22.

A member of staff challenged Morris and a scuffle ensued. The worker suffered a dislocated shoulder.
