A twinkle–toed youngsters is leaping for joy after being accepted into a top ballet school.

Poppy Cordingley, of Matlock, has been accepted to train as a Royal Ballet School junior associate.

The eight–year–old attends The Claire Dobinson School of Dancing, which holds classes in the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale.

She will now take weekly classes in Manchester to compliment her training with Claire Dobinson.

Claire said that it is a wonderful achievement for Poppy to have been selected from so many hopeful dancers.

“We are extremely proud of her and hope she enjoys her training,” she added.
