Matlock cat found injured after being shot with air rifle

A pet cat in Matlock has been found with a wounded leg after being shot twice with pellets from an air rifle.

The cat’s owner, who lives on Lilybank Close, Matlock, called police after their pet returned home on the evening of Monday, July 18 with a damaged leg.

It had been found that the cat had been shot twice in the leg with pellets believed to be from an air weapon earlier that day.

Officers are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with information relating to the attack, to get in touch.
