A tractor pull is being organised to mark the 20th anniversary of a trust which was set up in memory of a Hope Valley farmer.

The Brian Morley Trust Fund was formed 20 years ago in the wake of the death of respected farmer, builder and stone mason Brian Morley, who was tragically killed while showing cows at Hope Show.

Brian was a long-standing supporter of local young farmers’ clubs (YFC), and since its inception over 40 grants, totalling £8,500, have been distributed to young members to help with agricultural, horticultural and equine-based university courses, funding for trade apprenticeships and YFC travel excursions.

Those to benefit include Buxton YFC member Stuart Mycock, from Flagg, who received a grant for a trip to Sweden.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the trust, a tractor run in and around the Hope Valley will take place on Sunday September 28, starting at 10.30am from Yew Tree Farm, Aston Lane, Hope.

Entry is £10 per tractor, which includes lunch and refreshments along the route.

For further information, contact Cath Morley on 07772 236 555.
