The first South Darley village pantomime for 40 years was performed to a packed house at the South Darley Hippodrome last week.

Crowds cheered, booed, sang and laughed out loud at the performance of Dancing Shoes.

The pantomime was written and directed by Tim Diggle, based on one of Grimm’s fairy tales, with all the ingredients of a classic tale with an original score and new songs.

Young performers from South Darley Junior and Infant School and surrounding community stole the show and music was performed by The Fossils. The event raised £1,500 which will go to village hall funds.
