TWO Matlock youngsters are celebrating after scooping the highest possible honour a scout can be awarded.
Aaron Rimmer and Daniel Steeples, of the Matlock All Saints Scout Troop, were presented with the Chief Scouts Gold Award recently owing to their commitment to scouting.
The two boys had to complete an array of outdoors activities, community work, fund-raising and creative challenges as part of the prestigious award.
Assistant Scout Leader Caroline Ward said: “Not only have they completed the tasks brilliantly but they have gone over and beyond what’s required in terms of contribution.
“They’ve had their moments, don’t get me wrong, but they’ve both grown up into exceptional young men and we’re all very proud of them.”
