A Buxton supermarket is extending its opening hours to meet local demand.
Following research which showed one in five people now regularly shop outside of ‘normal’ weekday hours, Morrisons has decided to open its Bakewell Road store an hour earlier, at 7am, during weekdays and Saturdays.
Store general manager Gareth Riley said: “Modern family life, more flexible working hours and busy schedules mean customers want us to be open for longer. The extension of our opening hours is one of many changes we are making – to make shopping trips easier at our stores.”
Additional improvements being carried out across Morrisons’ UK network include the removal of trolley locks, the redesign of stores and the refurbishment of its cafes, construction of new petrol stations, the refurbishment of baby change and toilet facilities, and the updating of car park controls.
