A Glossop man who threw bleach in his girlfriend’s face has been spared jail and has been ordered to go on a relationship course.

Daniel Downes admitted throwing a bucket of water and bleach at Zowie Small at their home on Platt Street, Padfield, on February 27.

The 37-year-old was sentenced to a community order involving attending a building a better relationship programme, a 12-month supervision order and 90 hours of unpaid work at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
