It’s been one of the highlights of Derbyshire’s event calendar for almost 200 years and Bakewell Show’s popularity is showing no signs of waning.
The agricultural spectacular, which has now grown to encompass three days, draws visitors from far and wide.
The fun kicked off on Tuesday with the dedicated equestrian day while today (Wednesday) is the first main show day.
As well as the traditional livestock competitions, horticultural displays and a produce contest, the show features a wide range of attractions for all the family to enjoy.
And new things are added each year, to keep the programme interesting for those visitors who return year after year.
Show manager Janet Bailey said: “We’ve got the Knights of the Damned in the centre ring this year putting on a spectacular display. They have been once before a few years ago but it’s their 10th anniversary this year and they’re putting on a special programme.”
Bakewell Show continues tomorrow (Thursday). For more information see www.bakewellshow.org.
