Police have issued a security warning to Blackpool and Fylde residents

An elderly woman was duped by a man who asked for a glass of water before stealing her purse.

The 76–year–old woman answered the door at her home in Harehill road, Chesterfield, yesterday (Tuesday, August 26) between 10am and 10.30am to a man who asked for a glass of water.

She went to get him the drink, went she returned she found him in her house.

Later she released the her purse, containing cash and bank cards, was missing.

The man is described as being white, aged between 30 and 40 years old, around 5ft 7in or 5ft 8in tall, or average build with dark hair and clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
