Make bridge part of party

As a frequent visitor to Matlock Bath I have been increasingly saddened to see the slow deterioration of the Jubilee Bridge with deep areas of rust taking hold of this unique and historic structure.

I have written to local MPs and the council who have shown a lack-lustre response and in some cases no response at all.

I feel this is typical of the malaise which affects modern thinking as to let this deterioration continue will only result in major repairs of a new bridge at great expense to the public purse.

Far better to have it painted to its former glory and to celebrate the forthcoming Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth by hanging some large Union flags from it as part of Matlock Bath’s commemorations along with perhaps some Victorian events which would also give a needed boost to local businesses.
