Man killed in Derbyshire horror smash named by police

A man who died following a serious crash between a car and a lorry on the A6 at Cromford last week has been named by police.

The collision occurred on November 1 at around 12.10pm at Whatstandwell when a car travelling towards Ambergate collided with a Scania lorry travelling towards Cromford.

The road was closed between Ambergate and Cromford for several hours after the collision.

Firefighters, paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene and a woman was reportedly taken to hospital after she was freed from the wreckage.

The male driver of the car suffered fatal injuries. He has now been named by police as 67 year-old Colin Taylor, of Gresley Road, Sheffield.
