A RUNNER has pounded hundreds of miles of pavement this year for a cause close to his heart.

Mark Street of Great Longstone has run numerous half marathons and fell races to rise more than £600 for Bowel and Cancer Research.

The dad-of-three rounded off his year by finishing 6,756th from 50,000 runners at the Great North Run.

“It’s a hard course because there were so many people, “ said Mark, who works for Trelleborg Forsheda Pipe Seals in Bakewell.

He already raised more than £1,500 last year.
