Matlock murder suspect still in custody

A SUSPECT arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Matlock remains in police custody.

Alexander Blick, who lived in Matlock Bath, was discovered by a member of the public at about 10.50am on Sunday October 16 in the grounds of the library in Steep Turnpike.

A post mortem examination revealed that the 42-year-old died as a result of head injuries.

Senior investigating officer Det Chf Insp Andy Stokes said a 43-year-old man, arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of murder, is still being questioned.

DCI Stokes said: “We are continuing to speak to witnesses today. The people of Matlock have been very supportive and quick to come forward with information.”
