Things are starting to get a little hairy at Bakewell Rugby Club – as these kind-hearted players raise funds and awareness for men’s health.
Dedicated Movember supporter Sean Driscoll has grown a tash for cash for the past four years and raised over £2,000 for the charity – and this year has roped in fellow Bakewell Mannerians to support the month-long campaign.
Sean, who works at the gym at Darwin Forest, in Two Dales, said he got involved with the charity after his friend’s dad had prostate cancer.
He added: “I can’t say no to it now. You look like a wally for a month but it’s worth it.
“My customers at the gym are used to it and say ‘it’s that time of year again’.”
Mercury Facebook friends Mike Blair, of Peli Deli ,and Phil Gregory are also taking part in Movember.
To support them go to uk.movember.com and search for their ‘Mo Spaces’.which hosts a sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
