A METHODIST church is celebrating its 100th birthday with an exhibition.
Darley Hillside Methodist Church will hold its centenary celebration next Saturday and Sunday.
To mark the special occasion the church will hold a display of old photographs and artefacts from across the last century.
On the Saturday between 10am and 4pm there will be refreshments available, and a special concert celebrating a ‘century of song’ will take place from 7pm.
There will then be two services on the Sunday, one starting at 10.30am and one at 6.30pm, with light refreshments available between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
A stone laying ceremony took place at the church on May 12, 1912, in the building where it sits today in Moor Lane.
Anyone with old photographs of memorabilia that they would be willing to lend for the exhibition is urged to call Pat Taylor on 01629 734865.
