Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams came to the assistance of a man that was reported missing last week.
The teams were called out at 5am on Thursday, June 23, to look for a vulnerable male, aged 20-30, from the Northampton area who had been reported missing from home.
22 mountain rescue team personnel from the Buxton and Edale Teams and two search and rescue dogs from the Buxton and Glossop Teams attended.
Derbyshire Police had located the man’s vehicle in the entrance to Horseshoe Quarry at Stoney Middleton in the early hours of the morning.
Rescue team personnel and the search dogs searched the quarry and the steep wooded surrounds, while the Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation were also called to undertake searches underground.
The missing man was located on steep ground by a search dog and his handler. He was cold and wet, but otherwise safe and well, and was taken to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital for checks.
