Money for eco projects

Green groups have been given a cash boost by Derbyshire County Council.

The Derbyshire Greenwatch Action Grants will help fund schemes across the county.

Projects benefiting include Whistlestop Countryside Centre in Matlock Bath.

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust has been given £350 for volunteers to improve a pond at the wildlife trust’s centre.

Church in the Peak has also given £350 for the Jigsaw Project which helps homeless people in the Dales.

The money will pay for a freezer so produce grown in the summer can be kept for handing out in the winter.
