Mountain rescue team called to Kinder Scout

Mountain rescuers were called into action a walker fell 20-feet off a track in the Blackden Brook area near to the Northern edge of Kinder Scout.

Glossop Mountain rescue Team attended the incident on Sunday, June 16.

Upon arrival, they discovered an 18–year–old female with a group of walkers lying in the brook and unable to move, she was accessed and treated at the scene by the team for a spinal injury, before being evacuated by an RAF Sea King helicopter to Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

17 Glossop Team members took part and was assisted by a section of the Edale team,the team was stood down around 8.45pm.
