Derbyshire Dales MP Patrick McLoughlin paid a visit to transport chiefs – who have scooped two top community award.
Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport has been presented with a prestigious Social Enterprise Mark award and an Investors in People accolade, which highlight businesses that support the community and planet.
Chief executive Edwina Edwards said “At Bakewell and Eyam Community our aim is to support people and the planet; by providing a transport service for local people. This is why receiving Investors in People and the Social Enterprise Mark is a great honour for us. It is an independent accreditation and a testament for our future direction”.
The charity provides quality accessible transport service for people that find it difficult to travel on conventional buses or have infrequent or no local bus services. The business also provides affordable transport for community and voluntary organisations.
Mr McLoughlin presented staff, trustees and volunteers with the two awards, at the charity’s base in Great Longstone Business Park.
