I’m writing with regards to the photo published (Matlock Mercury, January 19) Fantastic fancy dress costumes!
The photo was taken at Wirksworth Carnival many years ago. The two young men in the front of the car are my father in the cap William Talbot and his brother Norman Talbot, who were taxi drivers.
I only know a few of the people who included, Mrs Brindley a dress maker, Mr Wood who kept the shop near the Wheatsheaf, Edith Webster and Phillip Ogden.
I have not seen this photograph before but my cousin has an original.
