Chesterfield residents are being invited to learn about developments to improve mental health care for patients.
Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is holding the free event on Wednesday, September 10, from 5.30pm – 7pm, at Hasland Village Hall, with a talk entitled The Importance of Mindfulness and Compassion.
A specialist nurse from the Trust will give the talk and provide an introduction to mindfulness – a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy and meditation that has become an important concept in healthcare in recent years.
Those attending will learn how Derbyshire Healthcare is trying to use mindfulness-focused therapy and a compassionate approach to help patients’ recovery.
A nurse will also be available to provide answers to any questions.
Anyone interested can book places by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (01332) 623723. Derbyshire Healthcare aims to recruit an unpaid Chesterfield governor.
