New hope for anxious brides

IN the wake of the New Bath Hotel closure, local hotels have come forward with last minute offers to help any wedding parties affected.

The Venue, in Ashbourne, has stepped up to the mark by offering any parties booked at the New Bath Hotel free usage of their functions room.

Toni Sheppard, owner of The Venue, said: “We just thought that the people who have lost out are going to need all the help they can get.”

The function room would normally cost between £15 and £30 per hour depending on whether usage of the kitchen was required.

Toni said: “We would be happy to work with people to make food and everything else more affordable.”

Another hotel which has come forward to assist parties is the Hallmark Hotel in Derby.

While General Manager, David Croasdale, has not set out a clear offer, he did say that affected parties should make contact to discuss their options.

David said: “We’d like offer help to any brides and grooms at this most difficulty time by offering very heavily reduced prices as I’m sure they will have already have expenses via the New Bath.”

The New Bath Hotel closed unexpectadly last week leaving staff, visitors and wedding parties with an uncertain future.

The hotel is know on the market for £2.5 million with estate agents, Knight Frank.

Henry Jackson, of Knight Frank said: “Due to the scale of this well-known and liked hotel, it provides a purchaser with a superb opportunity to reposition the property.

“Based on the current guide price, we think the hotel will generate a substantial amount of interest.”
