WIRKSWORTH Children’s Nursery celebrated 20 years this month with a barbecue and face-painting.
The nursery in Coldwell Street cares for about 60 children, from babies up to five years.
Parents and children attending the open day on Saturday September 3 helped raise £50 for Barnado’s.
Mr Ribble said the nursery had become a central part of town life by not only caring for children but also creating jobs for local people and supporting nearby businesses.
“We are a small, local and friendly nursery and have always achieved very positive Ofsted assessments,” he said.
“We work closely with local schools and other agencies and we work hard to meet the individual needs of all our children, including those with special needs.
“All our staff are qualified and keep up to date with the changing expectations and requirements of the Early Years curriculum.”
