A NURSE from Matlock who leads an award-winning ward of nurses has thanked those who nominated them.
Shona Hickling is the senior sister on the oncology Ward 303 at the Royal Derby Hospital who landed a Pride of Derby award for going that extra mile for their patients.
She said: “We were quite surprised when we were told but it was nice because it’s all nominated by patients and their relatives.
“It’s lovely working here, I love the oncology ward and the staff are great.”
She has been at the hospital for a decade, and prior to that worked at Whitworth Hospital.
She still lives on Turnpike Close in Matlock- next to the fire station where her husband works.
