Bakewell’s Safer naeighbourhood team will be taking to the streets tomorrow (Saturday, June 6) to give local residents crime prevention advice.

PCSO Hayley Grundy will be heading to Birchover in the mobile police station tomorrow (Saturday, June 6) to give residents in the area the opportunity to chat about any neighbourhood concerns with her.

She will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice around home and garden security for the summer months, along with giving people the chance to pick up cut-price security kits.

The policing team will be visiting the village of Stanton to host a similar event next week. This will take place between 1pm and 5pm on Saturday, June 13 and will run from the mobile police station.

PCSO Hayley Grundy said: “Events like these are a fantastic way for us to head out into the local community to chat to local residents about any issues that they may be having and what we can do to help them.

“With the warmer weather approaching, many of us will be leaving windows and doors open to let in fresh air, or leaving garden tools out and sheds unlocked as we tend to our gardens. This provides thieves with the perfect opportunity.

“Over the two events we will be speaking to residents about home and garden security and the steps that people can take to further protect their property from being targeted by thieves. I look forward to seeing you all there.”
