A FAMOUS Peak District house will be opening its gardens for charity.
Oliver Stephenson, owner of Lomberdale Hall, in Middleton-by-Youlgrave, will be opening his gardens to the public for the first time.
The event, on Saturday, June 18, will raise funds for charity the Friends of the Peak District.
Mr Stephenson said: “The gardens are looking particularly lovely at this time of the year, and I am delighted to be opening them to the public for the first time.”
Lomberdale Hall was home to the pioneering and controversial archaeologist Thomas Bateman. The listed 19th Century hall is right next to the Limestone Trail in the heart of the White Peak.
The gardens will be open between 10am and 5pm. The entrance fee is £5.
