The police officer accused of killing former Matlock resident Ian Tomlinson at the G20 protests in 2007 will stand trial at the Old Bailey in October.

PC Simon Harwood, 44, appeared at City of Westminster magistrates court in London on Monday, June 20 charged with the manslaughter of the newspaper seller.

Harwood spoke only to confirm his age, name and address and was bailed to reappear for a hearing at the Old Bailey on 17 October.
