Peak manager has big plans for national design

A PLANNING manager at the Peak District National Park Authority has beat more than 700 applicants to take a leading role in UK building design.

Sarah Foster, who manages the south area planning team, will be one of 250 Built Environment Experts (BEEs) for the Design Council across the UK.

The Design Council is a charity which encourages the use of good building design to transform communities, business and the environment for the better.

Sarah said: “I’m really pleased to be selected for this role because I have always tried to promote the planning profession as widely as possible and to change outdated perceptions of planners and the planning system.
